Joints
For the first time, heat flow thermography enables non-destructive characterisations of joints, in particular in car body construction. Every mechanically sound welded joint has good heat conductivity, whilst material defects interrupt the heat flow.
100% production control
Very fast IR cameras with high relative thermal resolution can produce an image that measures the heat flow changes caused by defects. This enables reliable recognition of concealed faults ("false friends"). Unlike with destructive testing, which is done using random samples, heat flow-thermography enables 100% production control.
Alongside inline testing, the operating strength of work pieces can also be tested continuously on a non-destructive basis during rough terrain testing. This means that a complete data set can be generated with only one vehicle.
This innovative test method was developed by Thermosensorik GmbH and over the past few years has been successfully modified to meet the demands of a very wide range of production lines. |

The key advantages:
- Cost reduction by avoiding test scrap and defect examples
- Enables operating strength analysis with continuous
monitoring of the test part
- Contact-free and non-destructive method, automatable,
production-integratable
- Boosts and ensures quality levels through 100% inspection
