- Select the wavelength range in which you intend to use the infrared lens. There are IR lenses for the shortwave, midwave and longwave infrared ranges (SWIR lenses, MWIR lenses and LWIRlenses ) and also broadband and dual band lenses (SMWIR lenses or MLWIR lenses).
- Decide which combination of image field and working distance (or which viewing angle) is appropriate for your applications. Consult us for advice about which focal length for a particular infrared camera will meet your demands.
- Are you looking for a particular lens speed? Particularly fast infrared cameras have a very large shutter ratio (e.g. F/1.5) and require an appropriate IR lens. Also for imaging quality (e.g. to avoid blurring with fast processes) it may be advisable to use particularly fast infrared lenses.
