Testing high-performance turbine blades
Siemens Power Generation manufactures gas turbines and components at several locations around the world and is one of the market leaders in this industry. The gas turbines use blades that have a heat-protective coating of ceramics and cooling channels for flushing with cold air so that they can cope with the extremely high operating temperatures.
Thermosensorik GmbH has developed and produced for Siemens PG a fully automated, robot-based testing system for non-destructive testing of high-performance turbine blades using heat flow thermography. This system, unique in the world, has been deployed for some years now in multi-shift operations.
Thanks to this success, Thermosensorik GmbH has been awarded follow-up orders from our pilot customer Siemens AG. We are grateful for this lasting trust and are pleased that a large number of Siemens turbine blades will be inspected with "next generation" Thermosensorik GmbH systems in the near future.
