Quality Control for Metal Surfaces
Undesirable reflections complicate the inspection of metal surfaces in the visible spectral range, and as a consequence measurement results often cannot be replicated.
Thermal imaging inspections solve this problem and are fast, reliable and non-destructive: hence ideal for quality assurance in manufacturing.
The workpiece's own thermal radiation is measured. Every deviation in local planar structures is measurable by the significantly increased radiation. This makes image data capture robust and lighting independent. The image data from the high-resolution IR camera are automatically evaluated, which permits reliable assessment of the metal surface. The smallest unevenness, dents, fault locations and also open-pore cracks are reliably spotted.
The results of the digital image processing algorithms can be documented as per customer wishes and passed on to process inspection.
